Andrea Joy Cook

A.J. Cook is a Canadian actor best well-known for her appearances in the feature films The Virgin Suicides (1999) and Final Destination 2 (2003), and for her role in the character Jennifer 'JJ' Jareau in the tv drama show Criminal Minds. Cook's television credits are Dead Like Me, Tru Calling, Higher Ground, Bluemoon, PSI Factor, Goosebumps, Elvis Meets Nixon, In His Father's Shoes, Laser Hawk and the TV movie Island Heat. Cook has also appeared in film features Blood Suckers, Final Destination II, The House Next Door, Out Cold, Ripper, The Virgin Suicides, Kisses and The Tinker. Cook was raised in Whitby the city of Ontario. She was raised by her parents Sandra and Mike Both of whom were school teachers. Cook was raised by her siblings, Angela Nathan Paul and Angela Nathan Paul. She is a Mormon and a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. When she was a small girl, she learned the art of tap, jazz and ballet dance. It was only when she was 17 that she began acting. Her participation in many dance contests. Dirty Dancing with Patrick Swayze was her inspiration to become an actor. In the summer of 2001, Cook was married to her long-time lover Nathan Andersen, whom she had met during a film class at Utah Valley University. They have a son, Mekhai Allan Andersen, born on September 13, 2008. The couple currently reside in Los Angeles
