Harry Edward Styles is an English singer, songwriter and musician. He was part of One Direction. Born at Holmes Chapel (Cheshire), England, on 1 February 1994, he is the son of Des Styles, and Anne Cox. Harry Styles studied at the Holmes Chapel Comprehensive School which is where he formed his own band, composed of three classmates, which he called White Eskimo. The band's outstanding performances enabled them to win in the Battle of Bands 2009. Although he has been a fan of music, the man also had a dream of becoming the next lawyer or physiotherapist. He was employed at the local bakery for a few hours in order to provide for his family. In the year 2010, Harry Styles presented audition for The X Factor where he sang Is not She Lovely by Stevie Wonder and was selected. This meant that the group he was in had to be split. Nicole Scherzinger, the jury participant on The X Factor suggested Harry Styles be part of a group called One Direction with Liam Payne Zayn Mlik Niall Horan Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne. Simon Cowell sponsored five teenagers to create the group in 2010. The group performed the song Kelly Clarkson's My Life Would be Sucking Without You together with Bonnie Tyler Total Eclipse of the Heart. In result, they made it to the finalist. However, they finished third, behind Rebecca Ferguson. Harry Styles, his group as well as Cowell did not win the competition. However, Cowell provided Harry Styles a 2 million pound contract to sign up with Syco.
